M-BIRR and Aviator in Ethiopia

An evidence-led guide to M-BIRR's role in Ethiopian mobile money, current Aviator support, merchant verification and outdated operator pages.

Direct answer

M-BIRR is an established Ethiopian mobile-money platform, described by the ITU as operational since 2010. We found no first-party evidence that it currently supports an Ethiopian-licensed Aviator operator, so historic M-BIRR casino claims should be treated as unverified.

#1 · Ethiopia app review

1xBet Aviator App

1xBet has some of the clearest first-party evidence that SPRIBE Aviator is present and mobile-ready, but we could not verify a current Ethiopian licence or a working ETB cashier. Treat this as a product-identification guide, not a recommendation to deposit.

#2 · Ethiopia app review

MelBet Aviator App

MelBet documents Aviator more clearly than most brands and offers a usable browser alternative to an app. Its Ethiopia case remains incomplete because ETB settlement and a current ELS licence were not independently verified.

#3 · Ethiopia app review

BetX Aviator App

BetX offers the best direct evidence in this set for an Ethiopia-localised Aviator product, but the decisive legal evidence is missing: we found no confirmed post-15 December 2025 licence. The app should not be promoted for deposits until ELS status is independently resolved.

#4 · Ethiopia app review

QwickBirr Aviator App

QwickBirr has clear Ethiopia-specific Aviator and ETB evidence, including a practice route. The missing element is decisive: we could not verify a current ELS licence after the nationwide revocation, so the app is not presented as an approved deposit option.

#5 · Ethiopia app review

1win Aviator App

1win appears to provide Aviator through mobile web and operator apps, but Ethiopia-specific ETB and bonus claims are dominated by marketing pages. With no current ELS licence verified, we rate the app evidence ahead of the local-market evidence.

Reviewed 17 July 2026. Payment availability can change; this page distinguishes first-party wallet facts from unverified casino integrations.

M-BIRR predates Ethiopia's largest current wallets

The ITU's Ethiopia digital-finance assessment identifies M-BIRR as the country's first mobile-money platform, operational since 2010. The African Development Bank supported an M-BIRR financial-inclusion project involving branches and agents.

That history establishes the service's role in Ethiopia, but not a current relationship with Aviator or any named casino.

A platform name is not a current merchant list

Affiliate pages often group M-BIRR with every local wallet without showing a live cashier or operator terms. A useful payment claim must identify the specific merchant, supported transaction type, limits, fees and date tested.

Betting-gateway status changed nationally

The ELS December 2025 notice revoked all licences it had issued to sports-betting organisations and told payment institutions to block associated transactions. An older M-BIRR deposit instruction can therefore remain indexed after the underlying route has stopped.

How to assess an M-BIRR request

Use the official service made available through your participating financial institution or agent. Confirm that the displayed recipient is a merchant rather than a personal account, and compare the name with the operator's legal entity and current terms.

  • Avoid APKs hosted on casino or predictor sites
  • Do not share a PIN or one-time code
  • Do not use a new recipient supplied only in chat
  • Record the transaction trace number

Be cautious with legacy brand pages

A page can accurately describe M-BIRR's general service and still be wrong about a casino. Look for a recent test date and primary merchant evidence; otherwise treat the page as historical background, not payment instructions.

Useful answers

Frequently asked questions

Is M-BIRR a real Ethiopian payment service?

Yes. Institutional sources document its role in Ethiopian mobile money and financial inclusion.

Does M-BIRR currently support Aviator deposits?

No current Ethiopian-licensed operator integration was confirmed in our review.

Is a wallet logo enough proof?

No. The live merchant, operator authority and payment terms all need separate verification.

Can I use a recipient from an old casino guide?

Do not do so without current confirmation inside an official operator cashier and the official payment flow.
